Perché Porcelain?!

Quante volte mi è stata fatta questa domanda... E' normalissimo che, leggendo il mio soprannome, ci si chieda perché l'abbia scelto: in fondo, per noi italiani, ricorda molto un porcellino o qualcosa del genere, quindi è sempre meglio mettere i puntini sulle O!
In un mio vecchio post (per la precisione questo) ho già spiegato che si tratta di una canzone dei Red Hot Chili Peppers e che riusciva a descrivere bene il mio stato d'animo (e forse il mio animo stesso) di un po' di tempo fa.
A grande richiesta (?!) ripropongo l'argomento, arricchendolo con un abbozzo di traduzione che mi sono permesso di fare:

Oggi voglio dedicarvi una delle più belle canzoni dei Red Hot Chili Peppers, in modo che la possiate ascoltare se non la conoscete già. Si tratta di Under the bridge ed è tratta dal loro album del lontano 1991 intitolato Blood Sugar Sex Magik.
Di seguito vi riporto il testo ed anche il video: purtroppo su YouTube ho trovato solo un sacco di versioni live e di cover fatte da sconosciuti, perciò dovete accontentarvi di questa performance live al programma Top of the Pops (in America, però!).

L'ho sentita di nuovo.

Sabato.

Era da tanto che non lo facevo.

Vabbè, bando alle ciance! Sabato ho riascoltato la mia canzone! Avevo deciso di portare con me un CD da ascoltare in macchina e così ho dato uno sguardo alla mia collezione. L'occhio è caduto su quel Californication dei Red Hot Chili Peppers che tanto ho ascoltato quando mi è stato regalato!

Avevo voglia di ascoltarlo: stupendo come album, non trovate?

E poi c'era lei: la mia canzone. Come quale?! Ma chiaramente quella che mi ha dato il nome: Porcelain!!

Non ditemi che anche voi siete tra quelli che pensavano che Porcelain significasse qualcosa come porcellino o giù di lì!!! Altrimenti mi arrabbio!! In tal caso, un corso di inglese non vi farebbe male...

Per chi non la conoscesse, la scrivo qui e vi consiglio di ascoltarla: vi avverto, però, che è una canzone lenta...e un po' triste! Ma se l'ascoltate, ricordate che quello è il mio manifesto!! ;)
